ON BERGMANN OF BRIGHTWOOD, OR is
sold on AMSOIL lubricants after realizing
cost savings and increased mileage
in his 1997 Ford Explorer.
Bergmann recently became a
Preferred Customer under Dealer Ray
Howard, who operates his AMSOIL
business as Cascade Synthetics in
Brightwood.
Bergmann switched from another
synthetic lubricant in March 2009. He
installed AMSOIL 5W-30 (ASL) along
with an EAO15 Oil Filter. The differentials
and transfer case were switched to
Severe Gear 75W-140 (SVO) and Severe
Gear 75W-90 (SVG), respectively.
"Shortly after switching to AMSOIL,
the gas mileage in my 1997 Explorer
greatly improved,” Bergmann said. “I am consistently
getting 17 miles per gallon in the city and 21 miles per
gallon on the highway compared to 14 mpg city and 16
mpg highway when I was using another synthetic."*
The Explorer had about 120,000 miles on it when
Bergmann installed AMSOIL lubricants.
He used the Explorer for a long trip
across Montana this past summer and
got as much as 21 mpg across the fl ats
of a tri-state region.
Bergmann, who is an engineer for
the State of Oregon Department of
Transportation, plans to convert his
state truck to AMSOIL motor oil to take
advantage of the cost savings and
increased mileage.
Howard has been an AMSOIL Dealer
for nearly 27 years. He said selling
AMSOIL has gotten easier, especially as
people look to save money in hard economic
times.
“Word of mouth is big, too,” he said.
He wears his AMSOIL logo jacket whenever
he’s in public, and his vehicle has AMSOIL information
on it. “I picked up a commercial account just walking
around in my jacket,” Howard said. “All you’ve got to do
is get out there and kick the bushes a little bit.”
